she provoked me to go off on the idea of a return to the hunter/gatherer lifestyle. (and it was amazing because i've never thought about it at all and for once i felt like i was talking about politics frommy own desires) and i understand that it would get rid of a lot of the problems of modern society. but i just don't think i could be happy there. because i feel like i'm running away from the problem. it's easy to be loyal to a family, to a group. to survive with them. but the truely amazing moments are kindness to ther people's families. and when you retreat into your own private hole how do you meet other people. maybe that's what scares me about the hunter/gatherer lifestyle--people exploring would be gone.

and people exploring is the most wonderful thing.
