in the last few sections of 'journey to the end of the night' madelon--the ridiculously dependent fiance of robinson--fights with him about whether he loves her. and how could he? because she is emotional, but in this way that robinson points out is trite. not true feelings, pain for the sake of pain.

i'm so disgsting.

i've only just realized that.

but what do i do instead? because i can't keep wandering around in fake love and interests at moments are more true yet still it's just two different reactions to loneliness and there must be something else.
