long weekend: Jan. 31, 2007 (1:10 am)

a week ago, karen drove me from cambridge to new york and we stopped in providence to see jj villard speak (holding a can of heineken, wasted, calling an exgirlfriend "that whore i used to fuck" and the students in the audience "motherfuckers") and continued driving (listening to the modern lovers, smoking most of the way through my pack of camel lights, faking excitement about billboards) and she brought me to her brother's apartment (where i met him and his friend both stoned and eating fastfood and watching seinfeld) and her parent's apartment (where her mom had prepared karen's favorite dinner and was on a conference call with japan) and i left and walked up broadway to columbia university and stopped in the same natural food store where i bought some sort of vegan cheese cake when i stopped with my family in the summer of 2003 and bought macrobiotic sushi rolls that i ate while i walked up to jonathan's dorm room where we talked about heidegger and hating our schools and now i need to write a two thousand word educational autobiography to transfer to his school when really i want to sit with books and friends in libraries and bedrooms in cambridge, massachusetts which has been my home for years now.
