the key to robbie's volvo broke in half when i tried to unlock the door to drive us to some party in waltham on new year's eve so we stayed at the ray's house in someville drinking homemade wine and dancing around the kitchen to the raincoats and blondie and missy elliott and new order and jay-z and ran out into the icy street at midnight but no one else came outside so we went back inside to dance and to sober up drinking lime seltzer water and the decaffeinated earl grey tea that maddie made for us before she put on a long black housecoat over the strapless dress she sewed out of a bedsheet and drove us back to our homes.
