as a child on the streets of new york, i felt like everyone was walking, biking, driving over me. i felt different with direction and free reign. there are candy stores and pleasant restaurants hidden everywhere. people are prettier in their element. rob walked through the tunnels fast but he never looked hurried and i never felt felt tired or unconfortable following him. last night i had a nice time and for the first time in a long time i didn't want to go back to dc. i've begun to see the amtrak as an extension of the metro and cities miles away from here as a fluid definition of home.
