where is mary now? what happens to those people you see around and then don't? where do they go? did they find new, private places to haunt? do they hop trains to mexico and live kerouac-lives? are they just in the same places at different times so that your lives become a series of missed connections? when you finally see them they smile. and it's not much, it hardly anything. but stil. it's better than be ignored by an ex-lover who you're only good hating or loving and who will never, ever be your friend.
