there really is a tie in my purse.

i feel like such a suburb girl. one would think that a city would have so many options of what we could do that we wouldn't need to drive around aimlessly. but while i am full of the desire to see new places and people, they seem bound to upper northwest.

and maybe last night it was better that way, since that was logan's first night home going to a show or a dance would've taken away the time we spent with her.

so we drove to the cathedral and walked around on the grounds. the bushes were all back, and they lead to a gazebo. but logan, with her new found outdoorsyness, didn't want to be in a gazebo so she sat down on a bench. and i noticed a tie hanging on the corner of the bench, and i took it.

next, we went to turtle park. my parents never took me there, but they took my brother there all the time. i could only make it up three monkey bars with ou dropping. i think it was the same in pre-k, when we tried ever so hard to get blisters so we could wear those neon bandages and show that we could climb the monkey bars. it was the first thing out soft hands ever did. i stood on the turtle and looked at meryl and logan on the swingset, meryl and logan in the club house. and i wondered why i'm the only one who ever explores a playground alone.
