he asked for a place to sleep and i offered him a mattress we placed on the floor at the foot of my bed. he set his alarm for eight and i woke up at six and stepped over him still sleeping to go down to eat breakfast before coming back up to lay in my bed until the alarm would go off and thought about not sleeping in stephan's bed waiting for his alarm to go off at eight. at eight, he sat on my bed in his underwear and i did not think to kiss him and then he got dressed and he hugged me goodbye which was all stephan wanted from me on that other morning i laid awake in bed waiting patiently for someone else to wake up at some prescribed time.
