there are big things i could have said: six moves in a year, dropping out and returning, vague loves, an exboyfriend in iraq, a boyfriend in cambridge, even subjects outside of myself. now there are also small celebrations i don't mention, like silence on walks and laughs on porches, but dc isn't pressing enough anymore so i return home to read italo calvino novels in my bedroom and write long e-mails to people who are not here and wake up from dreams that invoke intenser feelings than the parties.
