he drives all over the country in a van with broken gears that require him to climb under the car and switch from drive or reverse to park manually and he never went to college and i'm not even sure how old he is but last night we were walking down u street talking about a competitive nature and a precious violin and when he talks he makes sense to me. the night before he drove into my city, i had been talking about seymour glass and stanley kubrick in a club nearby and telling the same bad jokes and we all danced and smiled.
