i'll never figure out suburban virginia and that's alright. somewhere out 50-west, i saw a turnoff sign for merrifield and i smiled. the sun was setting behind me and the sky was the same orange color that it was over minnesota avenue a year and a bit ago. when i got to the intersection of 50 and prosperity avenue i thought about calling you, 'guess where i am', but as i started i stopped not wanting to think of myself as one of those hundreds of solitary cars we looked at together that day.
