for the first time in a long time yesterday i talked to a boy i carpooled with to elementary school. back in the days when his parents could buy us cookies and we could all share and i didn't have to think about my standards. we talked about college and he said tupac called him from the grave and told him he should go back to california. i know i was silent, i hope i smiled so he didn't feel stupid. biking home past his old house, i thought of saying "yeah, i chanelled henry david thoreau and he told me to go to his alma matter" but that might have just made things more awkward.
