while the first snow was barely falling, a man at the smithsonian looked up at me after unlocking his car to say, "it's snowing." he smiled and i smiled. next year i will miss free museums and the cathedral metro ceilings and even the chain bookstores, or at least the one where paul kissed me when i was thirteen years old a few januaraies ago.
