chicago was all earth tones so i felt like a local. we went to a bookstore under a church where the books were packed into a labyrinth of shelves. we were explorers peering under bridges and into dark doorways. i'm back in the city where i know just what i'm looking for so i pack into my car while others pack into their cars to drift over the city alone. sam smiled when he realized we might go to college together and it was nice to see someone else excited. the video store is the new candy store and i'm picking out obsure movies. but next weekend i'll be picking out obscure movies with cameron so that's something nice to look forward to in an other new city.
